This week in Room 9 Maths we are learning about measurement.
We are learning to explore the length of a metre and ways that we can estimate a metre.
We have been pretending to be pirates. We have had to measure where the buried treasure was and come up with a way of making sure it would be the same even if the treasure map was used in 100 years time.
Yesterday we measured out the length of our pirate ship on the floor of the classroom and today we drew it today using cm rather than m.
Here are some of our ships. We had to make sure the ship, the masts and gang plank were the correct length.
